Internet Connectivity
How to configure Proxy Server Settings in Internet Explorer (IE)
Use these settings if you are in a school that uses Project
Connect to connect
to the Internet.
(Currently that is: School 1, 2, 4, & 5)
- Load IE.
- Tools menu > Internet Options...
- Connections tab
- Click the LAN Settings button
- Use either "Proxy Server" or "Automatic configuration," not both. Proxy
server is usually faster.
Proxy Server
- enable "Use a proxy server for your LAN
- Address: Proxy
- Port: 8002. Alternate port: 8080
- enable "Bypass proxy server for local addresses"

Automatic configuration
- enable "Automatically detect settings"
- enable "Use auto configuration script:
- Address: http://proxy.nycboe.org/proxy.pac

How to save a file to your computer
Before you can use any of the documents listed here, you will need
to save it to your local computer. The process of saving to your local computer
is called "downloading."
- If you are using Internet Explorer, right click on the
file you want to download.
This will display a "context menu."
- Then left click "Save Target As."
- If you are using Netscape, right click on the file you
want to download.
This will display a "context menu."
- Then left click "Save Link As"
