South Bronx Job Corps Academy is a training
/ educational facility of approximately 300 student/trainees,
ages 16 – 24, of whom approximately three-fourths are residents
and one-fourth commute from home.
SBJC offers academic instruction leading toward the GED (General
Equivalency Diploma) and also provides training in these vocational
areas:
- Nursing
Accounting

Business Technology

Facilities Maintenance
-
Cabling/CISCO
-
Culinary Arts
- Security
SBJC
is a program of the United States Labor Department which is managed
under contract by Res-Care, a management company that specializes
in social services. The
CEC staff at SBJC includes 9 teachers, 2 LYFE professionals and
5 paraprofessionals. All but one of our teachers teach in the
academic program. Ms. Hodgers teaches nursing in the vocational
program.
