Making Opportunities for Upgrading Schools & Education Founded in 1997, MOUSE is a non-profit volunteer organization that provides New York City public schools and their extended communities with technology resources, expertise, access and support by linking them with professionals from the local high-tech industry. In the development of its core programs - infrastructure, instruction and dissemination - MOUSE conducts localized research and analysis of education and technology trends. MOUSE's ultimate goal is to empower NYC's youth through access to and understanding of information technology. | ||||||||
International Bridges Project THE INTERNATIONAL BRIDGES PROJECT is committed to linking New York City students, staff and schools and their counterparts around the world. It was created to bring the New York City Alternative Schools and Programs together with programs and projects from other nations, in order to coordinate educational experiences that further international education and understanding. | ||||||||

The Waterways Project The Waterways Project of Ten Penny Players, an arts in education program, uses the arts to integrate literacy, creative expression, publishing, performance, service learning, computer skills, and critical thinking into a curriculum created for a network of schools, libraries, community based organizations, and distant learners. Through workshops, publications and performances, Waterways encourages all participants to actively engage in creative communities. | ||||
Friends of Island Academy Friends of Island Academy (FOIA) reaches out to youth prior to their release from Rikers Island. Upon discharge, FOIA provides job training, counseling, education, mentoring, and youth leadership development. In return, articipants are expected to stay out of trouble, take responsibility for themselves, and work to rebuild their lives. | ||||
