The Alt School account manager version 0.0.2 Alpha
In order to install the account manager you will need to first install
these packages from the SuSE linux cd's
1)Postgresql-lib
2)PostgreSQL
3)PostgreSQL-server
4)PostgreSQL-devel
5)TermReadkey
6)Perl
7)perl-DBD
8)perl-Expect
You will also need perl-DBD-Pg
which is not included with SuSE Linux
however you can download the rpm I have created for you here
Finally you will need acm, which
you can download here
Once you have installed all of the dependant rpms from YAST you will need
to install perl-DBD-Pg.
From the directory where you downloaded the rpms type "rpm -ih perl-DBD-Pg-1.01-1.i386.rpm".
You should see a row of ########## go across your screen and it should be
installed or it will just complain about missing dependent rpms.
If it does, just install the rpms it asks for from YAST off the SuSE Linux
CDs and try again
Next you need to install acm.
From the directory where you downloaded the rpms, type "rpm -ih acm-0.0.2-1.i386.rpm"
and this is what you should see on your screen
or it will just complain about missing dependant rpms.
if it does, just install the rpms it asks for from YAST off the SuSE Linux
cd's and try again
The final stage is to set a password for acm.
At the command prompt type "passwd acm".
It will then prompt you for a new password,
then it will prompt you to Re-enter new password
like so:
Now to use acm, login to your linux box with the user name, acm,
and the password you set.
You should see the main menu
When you quit the program it will log you out
