For those of you who are interested in building affinity networks under
the new DOE structure, you may be interested in determining which
progressive/alternative schools are in your neighborhood. Check out
http://www.altschools.org/schools to see the list of the 68 alternative
schools that have been part of the Alternative HS Superintendency.
There are even some middle and elementary schools among them!
The schools are grouped by borough, and the address of each school
is listed beside the school's name. Clicking on icons can also give you
an aerial view of the school and provide directions.
If anyone in particular would like to brainstorm with me about schools in
your neighborhood that might meet your affinity requirements, please
feel free to contact me at [email protected]. I do have
considerable familiarity with the schools that have been part of the
Alternative HS Superintendency.
