New School for Arts and
Sciences, a member of the Center for Collaborative Education,
was founded to introduce alternative-assessment, and rigorous
education to all students. We believe that all students can learn
to the best of their ability in an academically challenging
environment that is also caring. Our students are prepared for
college and to speak in public. They are expected to complete
portfolios in mathematics, science, humanities, community service,
Spanish, and the Arts. Students learn good habits of mind and work
diligently during school hours as well as after 3:00pm.
Program Eligibility: Open to residents within former James Monroe
zone.
