I teach English at the Bronx Satellite. I currently teach courses in Short Fiction, Shakespeare, and a Literature-based exploration of issues of violence. Originally from small-town Massachusetts, I now make my home in Washington Heights. Before coming to New York, I studied Philosophy and English at Tufts University in the Boston area. In the spring of 2001, I completed an M.A. in Philosophy and Education, and I am currently working towards a degree in the field of Literacy Studies. My favorite thing about Satellite is the students, whose energy and creativity impress me on a daily basis. My interests include poetry, media literacy, and travel to distant lands. When not teaching or learning, I enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and reading. |
