Alice Braziller

I have been a NYC public high school teacher for 18 years, 15 of those years have happily been at Satellite Academy. When I tell people that I'm been a public school teacher in LES for so many years, they look at me with a mixture of pity, horror, and confusion. I immediately tell them that Satellite is a very different school and that my work is exciting and satisfying. Work is both these things because I get to teach subjects I love to students who (for the most part) are open and curious. Hence, I can teach Facing History and Ourselves,Movers and Shakers (about the civil rights movement)Play writing and Performing,History of You and most recently Quilting. It's a good life.
