Sarah Blos

I came to Forsyth Street in September of 1984,returning to my native New York city after having spent almost 3 years in Mexico,where I started teaching at a high school level. Over the years I've had the pleasure of teaching a wide variety of courses:from foreign language(French,Spanish & Latin), to human sexuality, Latin American Studies, plus student council/leadership.

In 1990 I was also involved, with Alice Braziller, in the creation of the History of You, a course that became the foundation of our Orientation program for new students. A few years later I developed Senior Seminar a rigorous college preparatory semester long study of public education in the U.S. All of our students take this class in their final semester before graduation.

I am deeply committed to the Satellite mission of offering a stimulating education within a caring communiy for young people from all over New York City who have been unsuccessful at other, more traditional high schools.
