Students in this class will be provided with the opportunity to interact purposefully with selected interdisciplinary materials and activities that are English and U.S. focused.

Additionally students will be provided with opportunities to engage in independent and classroom work study projects and assignments. (i.e.math/global projects)

Activities/Assessment

1.Read and comprehend at least 2 novels, same subject or genre-(U.S. related)

2.Read and comprehend informational materials primary and secondary sources.

3.Analyze and interpret variety of functional documents in U.S. history (declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights Constitution etc.)

4.Research and write an informational report and/or project.

5.Essay RCT / Regents style

6.Produce a response to literature using interpretive and critical processes (i.e. logs, journals)

7.Analyze and revise work to improve its clarity and effectiveness.

8.Classroom presentations-dramatic skits and role play
