Part of the Music Program at Brooklyn International introduces students to the art and science of sound and video recording.

A large part of the curriculum involves students composing and recording original music. Students experience the recording process as an aid to composition and experimentation. After considerable in-class development students decide upon the final arrangement of whatever piece they are working on, and record it. These recorded pieces can be used for The Senior Portfolio, if the student wishes.

In 2001 Brooklyn International released a CD of original student music called SOUNDINGS I. Some of the pieces on this recording were Senior Portfolios pieces.

"SOUNDINGS II" is currently under production.
